You may have heard – there's been a big victory for food labeling. A federal court overturned a ban on labeling milk that hasn't been treated with bovine growth hormone as “rbGH free,” “rbST free” or “artificial hormone free.” (1)
The Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals struck down the Ohio state labeling ban last week.(2) Food-safety advocates and health conscious individuals are hopeful the case will bring attention to all food-labeling issues, such as the lack of mandatory labeling in the U.S. of genetically engineered foods.
