The holiday season is here! The time has come for sumptuous dinners, decadent desserts and the comfort of family to share it all with. Whether you are hosting this year or bringing a dish to a potluck, just searching out the right recipes can take up a lot of time and energy. If you are adjusting traditional dishes to fit a special diet, it can be even more of a headache.

Luckily, if you’re tired of the same old recipes you make every year or tired of guessing at substitutions that fit your diet, Down to Earth has a holiday surprise for you! Because we want your holiday food to be both fun and nourishing, we’ve given our recipe page a makeover with your needs in mind.

Down to Earth’s recipe database has always been the source for delicious and nutrition plant-based dishes. Now, our new and improved recipe page offers a more user-friendly, easier to navigate design. We’ve added features that make it easier to accommodate a vegan, gluten-free, nut-free or soy-free diet. We’ve also sorted our recipe database by special categories to help pluck out meals that are easy to prepare. These include Quick and Healthy, One Pot Meals, Budget Friendly Meals, and Cooking with Kids.

Whatever your individual recipe requirements are, our new recipe page makes it easy to take the next step. Put in your keywords, adjust your criteria, and then hit “search”. Now you’ll have a list of possibilities tailored to your unique needs.

Do you have lots of kale in the garden, but want to know how you can prepare it for your two kids who are allergic to soy? Enter “kale,” in the search bar and select “Soy-Free” and “Cooking with Kids.” Voila! A kid-friendly Kale Power Smoothie! Love your grandma’s Thanksgiving yams but looking for a vegan option? Search “yams” and select “Vegan.” Ta-da! Rosemary Yams, sure to become a new family favorite.

To make holiday cooking even easier, we’ve added a Holidays section under Recipe Categories. A quick browse through our Chocolate Peppermint Cookies, Okinawan Sweet Potatoes Au Gratin, Garlicky Green Beans, Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake, or Rustic Tofu Pot Pie should be enough to spark your imagination and infuse your holiday cooking with new ideas and flavors.

But wait! No Thanksgiving dinner is complete without the perfect gravy. Whether you’re looking for a vegan option, nut-free, gluten-free or just delicious, you know where to go. For tradition with a twist, see our Mock Turkey Gravy. For a creamy delight, try the Cashew Gravy. For a hearty addition to any meal, try the Chickpea Gravy.

The deserts are to die for!

Wishing you hearty and healthy meals this holiday season!
