MILLENIUM “MOCHA” MELTAWAYS This recipe is from “Kathy Cooks Naturally.” (a.k.a. Mocha Meltaways)
Ingredients: ½ C. butter or margarine 1 C. honey
¼ C. carob powder 2 Tbsp. Pero (coffee substitute) 2 Tbsp. malt syrup (optional) ¼ tsp. allspice
1 ¾ - 2 C. milk powder (whole or buttermilk or protein powder)
Nuts or seeds, chopped fine
1. Cream the honey and butter. 2. Add the next four ingredients and mix until well blended. 3. Gradually add the milk powder, stirring constantly until well blended. (You may have to mix with hands.) 4. Press evenly into a greased pan about ½” thick. 5. Top with finely chopped nuts and/or seeds 6. Cover and chill. Cut into squares and serve.
