Macadamia Nut Hummus w/ Crispy Pitas

Change up a classic with different and delicious ingredients.

Ingredients

    Macadamia Nut Hummus
  • ½ cup roasted macadamia nuts
  • 2 cups garbanzo beans, drained
  • 3 Tbsp. Oils of Aloha macadamia nut oil
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp. water
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 10 medium basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Crispy Pitas
  • 4 large pitas
  • 2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 2 tsp. ground garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. Oils of Aloha macadamia nut oil

Instructions

  1. Set oven to broil.
  2. Combine hummus first group of ingredients in your food processor and pulse until pureed.
  3. Transfer to serving platter and garnish with a few basil leaves for presentation. Set aside.
  4. Cut each pita into 4 wedges.
  5. In a small bowl combine cumin and garlic with the macadamia nut oil.
  6. Brush the oil mixture onto the pita wedges and set on baking sheet. .
  7. Broil pitas until slightly browned, about 3 minutes. Serve with Macadamia Nut Hummus and enjoy!

Yields 2 1/2 cups hummus
