Thai BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • ½ Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 cup chopped sweet Maui onion
  • 1 ½ oz. minced fresh ginger
  • 1 ½ cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 small Hawaiian red chili’s
  • ½ cup honey
  • 5 oz. tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup molasses
  • ½ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 10 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 oz. chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 ½ oz. chopped fresh lemongrass
  • 3 oz. dark brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. paprika

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in large sauce pan and cook onion for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add ginger and cook an additional 5 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and cook 20 minutes.
  4. Strain sauce and cook and additional 20 minutes. Serve immediately and keep leftover sauce in refrigerator.
