Savory Gravy

This recipe is from Dr. Shintani's "Eat More, Weigh Less Cookbook."

Ingredients

  • 2 C. vegetable broth
  • 1 C. water
  • 1 Tbsp. Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ C. whole-wheat flour, pan toasted
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Place flour in a dry pan in the oven at 300 degrees and bake for 10-15 minutes to lightly brown.
  2. Blend flour with remaining ingredients and cook in a saucepan, stirring until thickened. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes.
