MOCK TURKEY GRAVY
¼ C. butter or oil
1 C. garbanzo flour (chickpea)
1 tsp. basil
½ tsp. thyme
½ tsp. black pepper
3 C. water
¼ C. soy sauce
2 tsp. lemon juice
2-3 Tbsp. nutritional yeast
1. Combine first five ingredients, stirring constantly over medium-high
flame until lightly toasted. You may have to mash it with the backside
of the spoon.
2. When toasted, gradually add water, whisk constantly to prevent lumping.
3. When blended, add last ingredients and mix well.
Yield: 1 quart
