SAVORY GRAVY
This recipe is from Dr. Shintani’s “Eat More, Weigh Less
Cookbook.”
2 C. vegetable broth
1 C. water
1 Tbsp. Old Bay seasoning
½ C. whole-wheat flour, pan toasted
¼ tsp. black pepper
¼ tsp. garlic powder
1. Place flour in a dry pan in the oven at 300 degrees and bake for
10-15 minutes to lightly brown.
2. Blend flour with remaining ingredients and cook in a saucepan, stirring
until thickened. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes.
Yield: 9 servings
