STEAMED VEGGIES WITH LEMON GARLIC SAUCE
Potato
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Carrots
Golden beets
Onion
Collard greens
Kale
Spinach
1. Pour about 1” of water into a large pot and place a stainless
steel steamer basket inside. Cover pot and bring water to a boil.
2. Cut any variety of veggies into small cubes or slices and place them
in the steamer basket. Root veggies that take longer to cook, like potatoes
and carrots, should go in first. Turn down to low and let them steam
for 4-5 minutes before adding other veggies. Broccoli and leafy veggies
should go on top.
3. Let simmer about 5-10 minutes longer or until veggies are tender
but not mushy.
4. Place veggies in a large serving dish and cover with lemon garlic
sauce.
LEMON GARLIC SAUCE
1-2 Tbsp. oil, ghee, butter or veggie broth
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1-inch piece ginger, minced
3 drops ginger essence (found in our Supplement Dept.)
1 tsp. dried tarragon
¼ tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. Spike seasoning
1 lemon, juiced
1. Sauté garlic, ginger and ginger essence in oil.
2. Mix in the tarragon and remove from heat.
3. Add the salt, Spike and lemon juice.
4. Stir and pour over steamed veggies. Enjoy!
