Down to Earth Organic & Natural has an exciting opening for a full-time Community Outreach Assistant (COA) who will be based in Honolulu location.
The goal of the Community Outreach Assistant (COA) is to help implement Down to Earth's Community Outreach Program. Key responsibilities include helping the Community Outreach Team Leader (COTL) plan and implement vegetarian cooking classes and special events. This includes teaching cooking demos for private classes, public events, and TV spots. The COA will also coordinate special events with guest teachers under the direction of the COTL. Other responsibilities include but not limited to assisting Down to Earth’s online social networking as well as provide general support for Marketing Communications. The COA will also be asked to help with company administrative projects. This full-time position requires work on weeknights and weekends (offset by flexible time) and short trips to neighbor islands.
The successful candidate is preferred to be vegetarian and have the knowledge and experience to teach vegetarian cooking classes, experience with community outreach, excellent computer and writing skills, an outgoing personality, and great presentation skills. Familiarity with online social networking is required. Being supportive and promoting of a vegetarian lifestyle is required.
Starting pay range: $14-$16 per hour, commensurate with experience and education.
