Botanical Perfumery with Deanna Rose

Down to Earth is pleased to present a full workshop on Botanical Perfumery with Deanna Rose. We are remembered by the essences we emanate: why not make a musk that is uniquely yours? Deanna Rose of Indigo Elixirs will be leading a workshop on how to use botanical oils in the creation of aromatice blends.

She will cover the basics of essential oils, resins and absolutes, including terminology, safety and dilutions. You will also become acquainted with the properties and aromas of twenty different oils, all of which will be available for you to work with in mixing up a vial of custom perfume to take home.

Deanna Rose is an herbalist & natural perfumer living in Manoa Valley of Oahu. When not in her garden or in the jungle, she can usually be found whipping up salves, butters, and oils for her botanical line, Indigo Elixirs. Offerings range from medicinal to indulgent, and all items are sourced from raw plant materials with an emphasis on locally-grown ingredients.

Deanna first started independently experimenting with natural body care over seven years ago, and is a self-taught perfumer. She went on to study herbal medicine at the Misty Meadows School of the Northeast, and has since continued her education in the holistic, nutritional and biological sciences. Most recently, she coordinated the Oahu Wildcrafter Certification, instructed by herbalist David Bruce Leonard of the Earth Medicine Institute.
