File this one away in your ridiculously easy category as well as a fun project for kids to do.
Ingredients
  • Using seasonal fruit, simply cut fruit into bite size shapes
  • For every 10 (6-inch) skewers, about 4-5 pieces of fruit would work
  • A variety of at least 3 different types of fruit would be good

Suggestions:

  • Diced strawberries, apples, kiwi, peaches, apricots
  • Whole blueberries, blackberries, lychees
  • Use a melon baller for watermelon, cantelope, or similiar fruit
  • Fresh large mint leaves or sweet basil
  • For a little more fun, drizzle honey, agave, or a simple syrup of choice
Instructions

A few helpful tips:

  • Cut the fruits in uniform shapes and sizes for easy eating
  • Choose a color scheme
  • Be sure to leave at least 1-2 inches free on the top and bottom of skewer, this will make it easy to enjoy them
  • Cut fruit a group at a time and keep the rest in the refrigerator
  • You can skewer the fruit ahead of time and leave in your refrigerator to chill
  • To keep the fruit fresh, mix fresh lemon juice with filtered water and spray them periodically
  • If you use fresh herbs like mint, make sure that they're squished in between two pieces of fruit so that the leaf doesn't tear and fall off the skewer
