Tempeh Sausage
Ingredients
- 1 package tempeh (8 ounces)
- 1 apple, peeled and chopped
- 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- 1 teaspoon fennel
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425̊.
- Bring water to a boil, add tempeh and boil for 12 minutes.
- Drain water and allow tempeh to cool.
- Break tempeh apart into small pieces. Add remaining ingredients and process in a food processor (optional: allow to marinade overnight).
- Form patties from tempeh and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking, until sausages are starting to burn around the edges.
