High levels of EMF or electro-magnet fields in hybrids and full electric vehicles

An interesting comment was posted on my blog post "Electric cars, are they the best way to reduce greenhouse gases?" The reader commented: "Independent studies have shown high levels of EMF or electro-magnet fields in hybrids and full electric vehicles. Conventional gas vehicles are actually better for our health then we think. EMF is known to have side effects from long term exposures."

This appears to be another case of the solution potentially being worse than the problem. All too often scientists and government attempt to rush a "solution" to market only to later discover that the "solution" has become a new problem. A recent example of this was the push for ethanol fuel which resulted in corn crops being diverted from feeding people into making ethanol. The result was increased food and other commodity prices which contributed to the economic problems we now have.

Another example of a "solution" becoming the new problem is GMO crops. We have no idea what the ill effects of this huge GMO experiment is going to be, and, it turns out that GMO crops are not producing the promised benefits (i.e. crop yields remain the same), while the negatives won't be known for perhaps generations.

The easiest to implement solution, with no adverse impacts, to the environmental, health, and world hunger problems is the widespread adoption of a vegetarian diet. It is easier, cheaper, greener, and healthier than all other options.

The single most important thing an individual can do for their health, the environment, and for the sake of the innocent animals is to adopt a vegetarian diet.

Love Life! Love animals, don't eat them!
