Our Kakaako Wellness Manager, Wayne, has been with Down to Earth for over 20 years. If you know Wayne, you probably know him better as Uncle Wayne. Like your favorite ohana members, Wayne is deeply caring and great to be around. Wayne is incredibly knowledgeable about homeopathic remedies and alternative medicine frrom supplements, protein powders, probiotics, vitamins, Hawaiian herbs, detoxing... Pretty much everything!
Ko Farms, hidden deep in Palolo Valley (Oahu), is a world away from busy Honolulu city life. Though many of us think of farming as an activity that takes place far away from the city, Ko Farms has settled into the urban farm life easily. And it’s no wonder: Ko Farms is very nearly magical. Butterflies and birds hover about, sun streams through the large trees onto the kale plants, and the ocean is still and deep blue in the distance. Built on the hilly terrain in the back of the valley, Daniel Ko has carved out multiple terraces in which to grow his greens.
Our Kailua Team Member, Janelle, is like a breath of fresh air, sunshine, and crisp ocean air all in one! Janelle is well known at our Kailua store to be a super positive, warm, nurturing and incredibly friendly person.
Janelle cares so much about all Down to Earth customers, you'll instantly feel like you're part of her ohana when you talk to her. She also knows a ton about all the great local, organic, and fresh goodies we have at Down to Earth. She's a great cook and has plenty of great advice for anyone looking to cook up a delicious and healthy family meal.
It's hard to remember when James hasn't been a fixture at the Down to Earth King Street store. His friendly, helpful and general "coolness" vibes are what makes him such a great part of the Down to Earth team! We're lucky to have him.
James knows so much about the local, organic produce at Down to Earth and then some! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he's super fun to talk story with. James can help you find the best local, organic fruits and vegetables here in Hawaii!
July 4th is the unofficial start of summer - parties, fireworks, parades (maybe not in 2020 but usually!), let's try our best to celebrate, social-distancing style, this Independence Day with ohana and friends! Our Classic BBQ Dishes (that just so happen to be Plant-Based!) are perfect no matter how you might be partying it up this Fourth.
Our line up of special 2020 drinks are all about the 'shrooms! Functioning mushrooms may help you with stress, anxiety, and sleep. They can also help improve your mood and give a boost of energy. Basically they help you feel great!

Not to brag but Down to Earth is pretty popular with Moms!
A few years ago, when I was a high school teacher in Australia, I assigned my homeroom students a task to each come up with a random act of kindness and write it on a small card. On the other side of the card were the words “You’ve been hit with a random act of kindness. Please feel free to pass it on.” The criteria of the acts of kindness were that they should be done anonymously if possible, and they should be generic enough that anyone could achieve them. We then placed all the cards in a box and each of us drew a card randomly.
