Talk Story with the Love Life! Team

Isn’t it great to call Hawaii home? While the rest of the country is bundling up for frightful weather, this Christmas we continue to be blessed with warm sunshine in paradise. As we again approach another holiday season with excitement, we are pleased to invite you to a variety of wonderful lectures and workshops that we have planned for this December.

September is Eat Local Month!

This month the Love Life! Team will be focusing on eating local and will be sharing recipes in our free cooking classes featuring local ingredients. Our menu for classes at our Oahu locations will be a savory raw pie featuring local tomatoes and Ko Farm kale, tumeric-garlic fried rice, and raw cacao macaroons with local coconut.

Night Market at Down to Earth Kapolei - Tues. July 15th

Our Kapolei store is having a Night Market and you're invited!  Join us for an entertaining evening Tuesday July 15th 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm.  It'll be in the parking lot and will feature 20 vendors and a great sale inside the store, where you will receive at least 35% off on ten great-selling items. All to the tune of live Hawaiian music by the Keanu Boom Kanani Band.

Make a Difference this Earth Day!

Although Earth Day is officially April 22nd, Down to Earth will be celebrating it on Sunday April 27th with a special day of fun and music. Proceeds from tickets sold will go towards supporting an awesome new sustainability charter school in Kaimuki, the School for Examining Essential Questions of Sustainability (SEEQS). Here's a great opportunity to support a worthwhile cause and have fun doing it! Learn more about Down to Earth's Earth Day Celebration

Vote to fund a great community project!

Richard Ha wrote on his Hamakua Springs blog about a project Rose Acevedo is proposing to harvest the fruit that goes to waste in the Hilo area and donate it to the Food Basket. PepsiCo is offering grants based on the number of votes received through the end of May. Once you're registered you can vote every day.

Even if this project doesn't get funding from Pepsi, I hope it can get community support. It's a simple, effective way to distribute Hawaii's abundant produce to those most in need. Thanks, Rose!
