Yearly health fair offers tastings, demos and more

The 19th annual PrimeTime Wellness Fair will feature 90 booths offering health screenings and healthy-living information, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. The event is free. At 11:45 a.m. sharp, be front and center at the Down to Earth booth, where chefs will present “Eating Healthy with Fresh, Local Produce,” demonstrations of tofu and vegetable dishes.

Kahului Renovation To Be Completed This Spring!

The renovation of the Down to Earth Kahului store is well underway! When work is completed this spring, customers will have about 3,000 square feet of extra retail space - for a total of 9,000 square feet. The renovation is expected to be completed in the April-May time frame.

Flu season, which generally falls between October and May, has hit the mainland hard this year, with levels reaching epidemic proportions in every state except California and Mississippi. While the numbers remain low in Hawai’i, state health officials predict that we will see a spike in flu activity within a month.
Down to Earth to renovate, expand Maui store

Down to Earth plans to begin a renovation and expansion of its natural foods store on Maui this month that will increase its retail space by a third. The project, which is scheduled to begin Dec. 17, will convert 3,000 square feet of storage space at the Dairy Road store in Kahului into retail space to bring the total store space to 9,000 square feet, Down to Earth said.
