Enchilada Sauce

Ingredients: 
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1½ Tablespoons chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions: 
  1. Heat oil on medium heat and add spices. Stir constantly until spices are slightly browned. Be careful not to burn them!
  2. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste and water. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Turn down the heat and add salt. Leave to simmer gently until sauce thickens, 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Great for enchiladas or Mexican casseroles! Enjoy!
