Over 40 years ago, Down to Earth opened its first store in Wailuku, Maui. The motivation behind the store was a simple desire of a group of friends to help improve the health of Hawaii’s residents by making available organic and natural products at affordable prices. Our Honolulu location opened shortly after that. In 2000, Down to Earth opened a modest store at Pearlridge West. While only a cozy 4,000 square foot location, it had everything customers needed. From its humble beginnings, Down to Earth has grown and flourished to become an important part of Hawaii’s healthy living community.
Now, we are excited to be able to better serve the Leeward Oahu area with our very first stand-alone store. This spacious 13,000 square foot Pearlridge location features an expanded offering of ALL VEGETARIAN local, fresh, organic, and natural products including exciting dining options. The new two-story store is complete with a production kitchen where tasty delights are made from scratch and has a mezzanine on the second floor. The mezzanine will be utilized as a dining area for shoppers and as a space for cooking demonstrations, seminars, and small functions.
The new store is conveniently located at Pearlridge Center East. It is across the street from Pali Momi Medical Center, on the corner of Moanalua Road and Pali Momi Street, next to the old Toys”R” Us. Get directions to the store by clicking here.
“2018 has been an exciting year at Down to Earth first with the opening of our new Kakaako store and now with the opening of our newly relocated Pearlridge store,” said Mark Fergusson, CEO of Down to Earth. “Our Pearlridge store will provide customers with an expanded range of local, fresh, organic and natural products while also serving neighboring Pearlridge Center businesses and local residents. We’ve been working on this project for many years, and we’re thrilled to share our passion for a vegetarian lifestyle, sustainable living, and organic products, while providing quality great tasting products.”
“The new store will offer Down to Earth’s extensive local fresh organic produce; organic and natural foods including dairy items; vitamins and supplements, organic and natural beauty products as well as natural household items,” said Steve Telander, Store Manager of Down to Earth Pearlridge. “The new location will include delicious entrées on our hot bar, an assortment of colorful salads in our cold salad bar and a wide variety of freshly baked goods and pastries, all served daily.”
The Pearlridge store will also have an extensive deli with new featured items such as fresh baked pizzas, made-to-order wok fried Asian style bowls, vegetarian sushi, fresh made chips and fries, fresh baked bread and more.
