All-stars who Malama the Aina daily, Hau'oli Earth month!

As the end of April is approaching, we want to give one last shoutout to those who contribute to raising environmental consciousness. Our planet Earth is one of only eight planets in the cosmic solar system and is the only known place in the universe able to support life. It surely plays a critical role in our universe.

Since 1977, Down to Earth has been talking about the environmental and health benefits of "going veggie”. This is simply one way that Down to Earth supports a wholesome lifestyle that gives back to our planet. It is backed by our pledge to provide local, fresh, organic, and natural produce, our sustainability in-stores, our educational materials on our website, our delicious vegetarian eats, and our mission and values. All of which collectively support the urge to Malama the Aina every day! It's more important than ever to help preserve our planet for future generations.

We’d like to introduce some of our team members who show gratitude for the Earth daily and exemplify it in their lifestyles. Let’s get to know some of our all-stars' in-store favs! Meet Aida, she’s been with the company for almost 5 years. Her favorite product to take daily is Paradise's Magnesium Blend Capsules. She’s been using Paradise’s products for 10 years and loves the variety of different herb blends offered and that they’re vegetarian and non-GMO of course (Down to Earth would not stock its shelves with anything less in quality)! Magnesium is traditionally used to aid sleep and muscle relaxation. Something surely worth looking into.

Heading over to our fresh and organic produce department, Aida says that she loves to chop up fresh lime, mint, cilantro, and cucumber. She typically will blend them to make a cold juice, a refreshing smoothie, or a simple detox water with all these elements combined. If she’s looking to jazz –it up a little she will add chia seeds to the mix. This adds a nice touch of protein and fiber to her intake and helps her to feel full longer until the next meal. Aida is one of the many friendly team members you’ll meet at Down to Earth Kakaako. The next time you check out, be sure to say hello!

Drum roll, please! If you haven’t already met Kakaako’s Wellness Manager Wayne, who is also referred to as “Uncle Wayne”, he is a respected Down to Earth veteran who has been with Down to Earth collectively for 25 years. His fav go-to products are the herbal tinctures from Herb Pharm. Today, he chose to highlight Herb Pharm’s Eleuthero tincture. Eleuthero is one of many in the adaptogen lineup. Wayne loves to use this product because it makes him feel more solid, grounded, and supports him with the energy to succeed in day-to-day life. Speaking of adaptogens, he also enjoys Herb Pharm’s Holy Basil and Ashwagandha, and will combine them with the Eleuthero, and vitamin B as needed. He is sure to listen to his body as it signals how frequently he needs these supportive supplements. Wayne has been a fan of adaptogens since he was in high school, truly a testimony of faith in a worthy and supportive product! He says that the body is so responsive that although you could take these tinctures daily, he doesn’t want his body to adapt to the adaptogens (excuse the pun) because then he must increase his intake. If you’re in our Kakaako store, do not hesitate to ask questions-maybe you need an opinion regarding natural supplements, or even just want to talk story, Wayne is your go to guy!

So, there you have it, some suggested in-store favs from our all-star team members who help to promote a wholesome, organic, plant-based vegetarian, sustainable, and happy, not a trend, but a LIFESTYLE! Just because the end of Earth month is approaching, here at Down to Earth, we celebrate and strive to honor the Earth every day. Be sure to check out the articles below to discover more ways to both honor and Malama the Aina throughout the year with us.
