Date Sweetened Latte
Ingredients
- 4 cups almond milk
Espresso
- 2 Tablespoons coffee, espresso grind
- 1 cup water
Date Syrup
- ½ cup dates, pitted
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Over medium heat, bring the almond milk to a boil.
- While the almond milk is cooking, boil 1 cup water for the espresso shot.
- Place coffee grounds in a French press. Splash some of the boiling water onto the coffee grounds to “bloom”, let rest for 30 seconds. Add the remaining espresso water and let rest for 4 minutes.
- Over high heat, bring 1 cup water to a boil for the date syrup.
- Once water is boiling, add the dates. Remove from heat and let rest 15 minutes.
- Transfer dates and water to a blender and blend on high.
- Strain through a fine sieve. Strained syrup can be stored in a jar for 4-5 days.
- In a mug, mix 1 Tablespoon date syrup, 2 Tablespoons espresso, and ¾ cup warmed milk. Serve hot and enjoy!
