"We all love animals. Why do we call some 'pets' and others 'dinner?'"

Another article in the Honolulu Advertiser today is called "Pets are people too, according to poll." The article presents the results of a telephone poll and reports that 50% of those polled consider their pet as much a part of the family as anyone else in the household, with another 36% saying they are part of the family but not a full member.

There is no doubt about it, people love their pets and find great companionship and friendship with them. There are many stories of pets saving their masters or their children, displaying great loyalty, etc. People know that their pets are just like them in that they have unique personalities, feelings, and emotions. We agree, pets, in fact all animals, are people too. It is not just pets that have unique personalities, feelings and emotions, all animals are unique and have feelings and emotions.

This begs the question "We all love animals. Why do we call some 'pets' and others 'dinner?'"

Love Life! Love animals, don't eat them.

Thanks for reading.
