We’re excited to announce the winner of our Keiki Chef Smoothie Bowl contest: Lacey’s Monkey Bowl!

We loved the creativity of her bowl right down to the cute monkey face design. Lacey will receive a $100 Down to Earth gift card as her grand prize.

Lacey’s Monkey Bowl

  • 1 frozen banana
  • ½ cup soy milk
  • 2 teaspoons peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ¼ cup vanilla protein
  • ½ cup ice
  • Toppings: 4 slices of banana, whipped cream & chocolate syrup

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients except toppings together
  2. Get creative and use toppings to create a monkey face

Here are the recipes for our 2 runners-up, who also created nutritious and ono-licious smoothie bowls!

Shino’s Honua Bowl

  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/3 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 5-7 drops blue food coloring
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup soy milk
  • Toppings: Kiwi, banana, berries, seeds

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients except toppings together
  2. Get creative and use toppings to create a cute pattern

Sibel’s Hibiscus Bowl 

  • ½ cup fresh banana
  • ½ cup frozen mango
  • ½ cup fresh melon
  • ¼ cup ice
  • Toppings: Coconut shreds for hibiscus flower, local honey drizzled on top

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients except toppings together
  2. Use a pancake mold to create the hibiscus shape with coconut shreds
  3. Drizzle honey on top
